La Garnacha Perdida del Pirineo is a tribute to Grenache, a variety historically forgotten and reviled for its complicated viticulture. Proyecto Garnachas de España is a collection of single-varietal wines made in different areas of the Ebro Valley and from very old vineyards. Each wine expresses all the nuances and uniqueness of its production area.
Variety: 100% Grenache.
Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels.
Harvest: Manual harvest on October 15.
Vineyard: Located 800 meters above sea level in Uncastillo, in the extreme north of the province of Zaragoza.
Planted in 1999 and ecological since its plantation. South-east facing slopes, with calcareous clay soil, surrounded by typical Mediterranean forest (oak, gall and oak). Little productive (2-3 thousand kg / ha).
Only natural treatments are applied and the vegetation cover is maintained. Elaboration: Fermentation in stainless steel and malolactic in French oak. Grade: 15.5% Vol.
Tasting Visual: Brilliant cape, very intense and vivid cherry red cherry colors.
Nose: Delicate and highly complex. Intense aromas of violets and roses.
Freshness provided by black fruits (blackberries, raspberries and blueberries), orange peel, pepper and balsamic aromas (dill, rosemary and bay leaf) typical of this variety grown at high altitudes.
Mouth: Balanced and round, fresh and pleasant. Unctuous and persistent on the palate. Kind and ripe tannins. Retronasal marked by the spicy notes of its aging and balsamic typical of the variety.
