Vinya del Vuit is a blend of Cariñena and Garnacha, with the Cariñena in greater proportion. The grapes come from two different vineyards. A small and very old vineyard located in Gratallops: "Vuit", an estate that was in a lamentable state of abandonment and neglect and after its acquisition had to be recovered and completely renovated, a plot of about 4.5 ha planted with very old Samsó (Cariñena) vines on blue llicorella soils.
The other vineyard was acquired later to add to the project, a 5.5 ha plot in Vilella Baixa. As the grapes come from both vineyards, the wine cannot be labelled under the Vi de la Vila de Gratallops classification. Both vineyards are organically farmed and the wine is vinified in the Clos Mogador winery. The fermentation is spontaneous using indigenous yeasts. Aged for 20 months in second and third year oak barrels
Tasting notes: Elegant, fresh and fine. Very expressive, mineral, notes of Mediterranean herbs, licorice, intermingled with the notes of very ripe red fruits and sweet and liquorice tips. Excellent concentration and balance
