Louis Roederer Cristal 2015 is a cuveé made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay by the Louis Roederer winery in Champagne.
The year 2015 was characterised by high temperatures and sunny days, accompanied by periods of drought, which were counterbalanced by beneficial rains towards the end of the summer, which helped to preserve the freshness of the grapes. These climatic conditions resulted in juicy, ripe and concentrated grapes with remarkable balance. Cristal 2015 benefits from this contrasting climate, which left a distinctive and lasting imprint on the chalky character, capturing more than ever the essence and energy of its soils.
The grapes are harvested from multiple plots, being individually grown and vinified. In this way, each unique location contributes a distinct flavour, reflecting its particular character. This plot-by-plot approach allows the qualities of the soil and climate to shine through, preserving the unique identity of each grape. The winery's tanks are adapted to the size of the vineyards, so that each of the 45 plots of the Cristal vineyard is perfectly suited to stainless steel tanks or French oak barrels.
This is a fragrant and bright sparkling wine that evokes an aromatic sensation that takes us to wheat fields about to be harvested, with hints of honey harmonised with intense citrus and candied notes. Ripe fruit and subtle toasted nuances are also present. On the palate, it displays its undeniable elegance through nuances of yellow fruits, accompanied by the distinctive chalky freshness and a slightly saline nuance, so characteristic of Cristal. This champagne stands out for its complexity and exquisiteness, being as seductive as it is sublime. Champagne Brut produced using methods that respect agriculture, aged for 60 months in the bottle before disgorgement.
