The distillery's latest creation, Ballantine's 10 American Barrel, has been aged for 10 years and finished in bourbon casks, combining the depth of Scotch whisky with the characteristic sweetness of bourbon. This results in a whisky with the classic Ballantine's character, but with an added hint of apple and caramel, courtesy of the bourbon casks.
This whisky has absorbed the richness of another tradition, acquiring a unique sweetness. Ballantine's 10 has a warm golden hue. Its aroma is a vibrant blend of fresh fruits, such as red apple, blackcurrant and lemon zest, accompanied by sweet notes of vanilla, toffee and a hint of nuttiness. On the palate, it is creamy and sweet, with flavours of homemade apple pie and vanilla custard, complemented by lemon curd, caramel and toffee.
