Mar De Frades Godello Atlantico is a wine with Atlantic Character that combines its elegant structure with delicacy in expression, a wine of marked singularity and enormous aromatic expressiveness.
The autumn started with high temperatures, which caused a delay in the leaf fall and in the setting of the Godello vines. The winter arrived with abundant hours of cold, and the spring was marked by heavy rains until the end of June. Flowering took place with the first high temperatures and fruit set was very late, almost at the end of June. Veraison arrived on August 10th, along with intense hours of sunshine without rain, which led to an uninterrupted ripening with a staggered synthesis of aromas. The harvest began on September 14
After a manual harvest in our vineyards, only those bunches that are smooth and aromatic go directly into the press, without maceration or destemming. The clear and expressive free-run juice ferments in stainless steel tanks with its own yeasts. After fermentation, the intense and aromatic wine remains on its fine lees. The wine is aged on the lees for months in tanks, only 6% of the wine was aged on the lees in French oak for 2 months. The blending was done just before bottling for a subsequent rest in the cellar for 5 months.
This is a wine with a very evocative personality, with a straw yellow colour and steely lemon highlights. The elegance it exudes starts on the nose, where notes of lychee and passion fruit mingle with scents of tuberose and gardenia. The palate is tasty. Its moderate acidity gives it a structure that imprints character, with flavors of apple, pear and delicate hints of nuts, hazelnut, cashew, and an aftertaste full of saline nuances
Its intense and tropical fruit invites you to pair it with farm produce, white asparagus, artichokes or aubergines. For its complexity, elegance and nuances it can also be tasted with sushi, sashimi, tataki or gyozas
The label incorporates a thermosensitive logo, which makes a small boat appear when the wine reaches its optimal drinking temperature, which will disappear if the wine is not cold enough for tasting
