Mompertone Monferrato Prunotto is a red wine made from Barbera and Syrah in the DOC Monferrato by Prunotto.
The harvested grapes were brought to the winery, destemmed and crushed. Maceration was carried out over a period of 6 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C. Malolactic fermentation was completed at the end of December and the wine was left to age for approximately 12 months in the cellar.
Mompertone comes from vineyards in the Monferrato area that grow on soils composed of limestone and clay with widespread sandy streaks. This terroir gives the wine a rounded palate characterised by soft and elegant tannins.
The palate is rich, fresh, full of strength and vitality, sometimes firm due to the strong texture of the tannins; it finishes with a Mompertone is a deep ruby red colour with violet nuances. Its nose is rich in fruity aromas of plums and cherries that mingle with notes of violets, spices and coffee. In the mouth it is mouth-filling, rich in tannins that are soft, elegant and persistent.
