DESCRIPTION:

A unique wine from the D.O. Rioja, a different red wine that surprises when approaching the nose and fascinates on the palate.

TASTING NOTES:

Color: cherry red, bright and clean.
Nose: notes of ripe red fruit combined with aging aromas (vanilla, coconut, coffee) and hints of licorice.
Palate: wide and with good freshness. The tannins are soft and leave a pleasant feeling of finesse.
Aftertaste: tasty, polished, and pleasurable.
Alcohol: 14% Vol.

SERVICE TEMPERATURE:

16-18ºC

RECOMMENDED WITH:

Tapas and cured meats, Iberian ham and Iberian sausages.
Meat rice dishes.
Pasta recipes.
Not very aged cheeses.
Roast lamb.
Chicken stews.
Grilled meats: hamburger, ribs, sirloin, T-bone steak, etc.

PRODUCTION:

Harvest: mainly manual, staggered during late September and early October.
Fermentation: 15 days in stainless steel tanks.
Routines: daily pump-overs.
Aging: minimum 12 months in oak barrels, plus another 12 in bottle. 60% of the barrels are American oak and 40% French oak.

WINERIES AND VINEYARDS

Location: vineyards in the municipality of Elciego (Rioja Alavesa).
Climate: continental Mediterranean, with a marked Atlantic influence.
The weather behavior was normal. The end of the ripening cycle was almost perfect, with sunny days, normal heat, and some beneficial precipitation in September. White grapes reached ideal ripeness, with very good health status.

Variety: Tempranillo with an average age of 30 years, grown in goblet and trellis.
