Pylobest from Vitobest is a supplement in capsules containing a unique patented formula that helps fight gastritis and peptic ulcer caused by helicobacter pylori.
It is a unique product designed in easy-to-swallow capsules, containing a novel ingredient developed by Lonza laboratories, called Pylopass™ that provides a new way to control the levels of Helicobacter pylori.
This formulation contains a proprietary strain of the Swiss laboratory Lonza which is a subtype of Lactobacillus reuteri with a unique mechanism of action. This strain manages to reduce the amount of Helicobacter pylori in the stomach by a coaggregation mechanism. Coaggregation involves the adhesion of the introduced strain with the Helicobacter bacteria, overriding the vital function of the host bacteria.
Pylopass™ has structures on its surface that specifically correspond to the receptors of the Helicobacter bacteria. When Pylopass™ comes in contact with the Helicobacter, coaggregates are formed that carry the Helicobacter away. Finally, these coaggregates are excreted and eliminated from the gastrointestinal tract. Different clinical trials have shown its efficacy and after the first two weeks of supplementation a significant drop in Helicobacter Pylori levels is observed, reducing episodes of gastritis associated with the infection

- Product stability: Unlike probiotics, Pylopass™ consists of inactive cells that can resist sudden changes in the environment. Thus it stays alive in shipments and storage, moreover Pylopass™ does not require to carry specific temperature control.
- It is specific for Helicobacter pylori: while probiotics are supplied by the intestinal flora in the stomach, Pylopass™ specifically binds to Helicobacter pylori in the stomach. Due to the specific nature of the intestinal flora, Pylopass™ does not bind to any other intestinal flora organisms, being totally harmless to them. Stability in the gastric condition Unlike probiotics, Pylopass™ employs a mechanism that does not need to inhabit the intestinal flora.
- Probiotics can be beneficial: because they can replace harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract. However it is not entirely certain that the probiotic strain can survive for long in an acidic environment such as occurs in the stomach. This is not a problem for Pylopass™ since co-aggregation only depends on the binding between the surface of Pylopass™ and Helicobacter pylori.
- High tolerance: Other methods to reduce the amount of Helicobacter pylori may generally have side effects such as diarrhea, or change in the taste of food. In contrast, there are no known side effects related to Pylopass™ either ingestion or administration.
- No increase in antibiotic resistance: Ingestion of Pylopass™ does not increase antibiotic resistance, studies show on the contrary that the number of antibiotic strains against Helicobacter pylori increases globally, increasing the risk of antibiotic resistance of the organism. In Asia, there are an estimated 37% of cases of resistance to metronidazole and 65% in Africa. Pylopass™ offers an alternative that does not contribute to increasing antibiotic resistance by effectively reducing the amount of Helicobacter pylori
