Maroon in colour, bright with ripe fruit aromas; blackberries, plums and hints of cherry. Notable presence of barrel. In mouth, it has volume and is long and lingering. To be enjoyed with red meats and elaborate sauces.
A harvest with optimal conditions in October, on dry, sunny days, following a very favourable winegrowing cycle. The grapes are from vineyards dating back 60 to 65 years, located in Ábalos and Labastida at an altitude of 600 to 700m, facing the south of Sierra de Cantabria.
Cold maceration lasts 2 days and fermentation is carried out for 8 days at controlled temperatures. Maceration is carried out for 9 days in contact with the grape skin, before ageing for 30 months in American oak barrels, and a further 36 in bottle in our underground bottle cellar.
90% Tempranillo and 10% blend of Graciano and Mazuelo varieties. Bright, and maroon in colour, this wine has aromas of ripe fruit such as blackberry, plum, and a touch of cherry as well as aromatic herbs like rosemary. There is the marked presence of barrel. It has notes of biscuit and turrón mixed with coffee and cocoa, with a hint of leather. In mouth, it is long, persistent and voluminous, with the presence of acidity and tamed tannin.
Pairs well with lamb dishes, red meats and elaborate sauces, pâtés and cured cheeses. Serve between 17ºC and 18ºC.
