RED WINE Jimbro Bruñal
Made 100% with the native variety Bruñal from our vineyards recovered in the surroundings of the Zamoran town of Fermoselle. Once elaborated it has remained in French oak barrels for 16 months. After bottling it remains in bottle for a year before its release.
Jimbro Bruñal is a clear example of our product philosophy, a wine with great expressiveness, concentration and elegance. The organoleptic profile of the Bruñal variety, added to our growing practices and the soils of the area, allow us to produce a wine with great personality.
Bruñal is a very exclusive grape from vines that were planted in the early 20th century after phylloxera wiped out all the vineyards in Arribes del Duero. It is a very special grape that is only found in this wine region and of which there is not much data about its origin. It has small clusters with also small berries, with a remarkable richness in sugars, but balanced, and a high content in polyphenols with rather sweet tannins.
The Bruñal variety has been officially recognized in the official list of the Register of Commercial Vine Varieties in 2011.
The Bruñal vineyards are located in Fermoselle, in the heart of the Arribes del Duero Natural Park. The soils are made up of a high percentage of sands with coarse elements and regular stoniness, and many slates can be found. They are acidic, poor and shallow soils that meet suitable conditions for growing grapes.
