RED WINE SAN ROMAN
Mariano García is one of Spain's most respected winemakers. After thirty years as technical manager of Vega Sicilia, he became independent in 1998, starting a brilliant career, first with Bodegas Mauro and then, in Toro, with Maurodos, which produces this San Román red wine, perhaps the first to showcase the extraordinary potential of the vineyards of Zamora.
The San Román red wine is produced by the son of the prestigious winemaker Mariano Garcia, Eduardo Garcia.
It is a wine from Bodegas y Viñedos Maurodos and its San Román wine received a rating of 96 points from the American specialized magazine ''The Wine Advocate'', directed by the prestigious Robert Parker.
These 96 Parker Points place it as the best wine from the Toro Designation of Origin tasted by Neal Martin, the Spanish wine taster for ''The Wine Advocate'', until April 2013.
Neal Martin described San Román as "sensational, delicious, and extremely well-crafted, imbued with personality, purity, and controlled opulence. To be frank, it outshines many more expensive wines from Toro." There is little more to say about it, simply that it is a spectacular wine and we hope it maintains its price, which makes it one of the best wines in terms of quality-price ratio. Highly recommended.
The San Roman red wine belongs to the Toro Designation of Origin.
San Román is a red wine with great personality, depth, and mature tannins, mineral nuances, and good fruit expression. A pure-bred Castilian wine that evolves well in the bottle for six to eight years.
