Red Wine Viña Solarce, produced by Bodegas Casa La Rad under the quality seal of the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin (D.O.Ca Rioja). This wine perfectly represents the diversity and richness of the region, combining tradition and modernity in each stage of its production.
The blend is composed of 65% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, and 15% Mazuelo, Graciano, Maturana and other native varieties, which provide complexity, structure, and a great aromatic richness. The grapes come from vineyards located between 530 and 650 meters above sea level, with an average age of 25 years, planted on varied soils that include alluvial clays, limestones, and rocky areas at higher altitudes, all with shallow vegetation.
The harvest takes place in the last week of September, at the optimal ripening moment for each variety. The vinification begins with direct pressing and flotation clarification, ensuring a clean and expressive must. The alcoholic fermentation, with selected yeasts, is carried out at 16ºC for 9 days, preserving the fruity and fresh aromas of the varieties.
Subsequently, the wine is divided into two parts: half of it ages for a minimum of 9 months in French oak barrels (60%) and American oak barrels (40%) of 225 liters, while the other half remains in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation takes place in a combination of tanks and barrels, favoring a rounder texture and a more integrated character.
The result is a young red wine with aging, characterized by aromas of red and black fruits, light spicy notes, and perfectly integrated hints of wood. On the palate, it is flavorful, balanced, and with good persistence, ideal to pair with grilled meats, cured meats, and aged cheeses.
