Torbreck Runrig Shiraz is a red wine made from Syrah and Viognier in the Barossa Valley region by Torbreck.
The Scottish Highland clans used a system called RunRig to distribute the land into a series of dispersed estates, placing the value on communal association rather than independent farms; Shiraz and Viognier complement each other in this wine, both varieties intertwining the strength and complexity of these parcels to achieve extraordinary complexity.
Torbreck Runrig has often been compared to the structure and fragrance of wines produced on the steep slopes of the Northern Rhône, in Côte Rôtie.

98 pt. The Real Review
A very aromatic vintage with floral notes, red and black fruit, a pleasant earthy component, cherry, liquorice and cocoa; Medium to intense palate.
Lovely mouthfeel with structure and depth. Red fruits, clove and liquorice mingle with sweet spices and cinnamon. Hints of stone, aniseed and pepper appear in the glass, rounded off by a long, lingering finish. Gentle tannins that will keep the wine alive for a long time and a good balance of fruit.
Aging from 15 to 20 years.
