Malkoa is a special txakoli, referred to as finca or pago; authentic, genuine, and with a much longer bottle life than previously produced. This unique and refreshing white wine is made in the Basque Country region from the Hondarrabi Zuri grape variety, typical of the area. It stands out for its freshness, balanced acidity, and a subtle fruity touch that makes it ideal for pairing with fish, seafood, and appetizers.
Designation of Origin: Álava
Curiosity: The name "Malkoa" means "tear" in Basque, a reference to the tear the wine leaves in the glass, a symbol of its quality and purity.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Presents a pale yellow color with greenish reflections, characteristic of the best txakolis.
Nose: On the nose, it reveals fresh and fruity aromas, with notes of green apple, citrus, and light herbal touches.
Palate: On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with well-integrated acidity and a slightly saline finish that evokes the sea breeze.
Production:
Txakoli Malkoa is made with very ripe Hondarrabi Zuri grapes from a plot of our own vineyard, cultivated with integrated production viticulture, respectful of the environment. This txakoli spent 20 months in an egg-shaped concrete tank, where its lees (yeasts) move continuously and spontaneously within a space without edges and with the help of the daily thermal oscillation between day and night. During this time, the wine self-stabilizes and gains volume in the mouth, integrating the other components, before being bottled with reductive aging, completing its refinement.
Volume: 75cl.
Alcohol Percentage: 12.5%
Food Pairing:
Perfect for accompanying seafood, grilled fish, fresh salads, and sushi. It is also an excellent option as an aperitif.
Serving Temperature:
It is recommended to serve it between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius to fully enjoy its qualities.
