The Specialty Coffee Sumatra Mandheling, from the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, is a unique product in the microlot line of Cafés Mocaibo. Scoring 86.5 in the SCA, this washed coffee offers tasting notes of fruit such as blackberry, blueberry, and cherry, along with hints of black pepper and dark chocolate. This Arabica coffee of the Bourbon variety is cultivated at high altitude, which enhances its quality and yield. The cherries are sorted by ripeness and processed through depulping with water and fermentation for 24 hours, followed by outdoor drying. These techniques give it distinctive acidity and sweetness. Sumatra is known for its exceptional coffee production qualities, and this product is no exception, showcasing tropical and citrus flavors in every sip.
