Artuke El Escolladero 2021 is a very limited-production red wine from a unique plot located on the slope of an old glacis in Baños de Ebro, Rioja Alavesa.
This wine represents the most personal approach of brothers Miguel and Roberto Blanco, who head the Artuke winery, renowned for its minimalist approach and absolute respect for the terroir.
Made primarily with Tempranillo and a small portion of other native varieties, El Escolladero offers a pure expression of the vineyard, with a complexity and freshness that place it among the great estate wines of the area.
Cherry red color with violet reflections. Medium depth and thin tears. Bright and attractive.
Complex and elegant aromas. Fresh red fruits (cherry, raspberry) predominate, accompanied by floral notes (violet), balsamic notes, and a very characteristic mineral background. Subtle nuances of sweet spices, cocoa, and damp earth from its aging in used French oak.
Notable freshness from the entry. Silky palate, with fine tannins and great balance. Long finish, with notes of fresh fruit, spices, and a marked mineral personality. A deep and precise wine that evolves magnificently in the glass.
