Bascois 2020 is a red wine from Adega O Cabalin, produced in the beautiful region of Carbellada de Valdeorras. This wine stands out due to its uniqueness, resulting from a careful blend of grape varieties: 40% Mencía, 20% Merenzao, 10% Garnacha Tintorera, and 30% Brancellao, Grao Negro, Ferrón, and Sousón. The production begins with a manual harvest in 15 kg boxes, followed by fermentation in open barrels of 500 liters, where indigenous yeasts and 30% stems are traditionally crushed. The wine ages for 12 months in 225-liter barrels, contributing to its final complexity. This wine comes from vines planted in 1910, at an altitude of 800 meters, in shallow slate soils. The viticulture is organic, though not certified. In the glass, it presents an attractive cherry-red color, with fresh aromas and notes of pine and red fruits like raspberries and plums.
