Blanton's Green Label begins its elaboration with the finest corn from Kentucky and Indiana, with selected rye and top barley ground

In 1984, the world's first single barrel bourbon was released under the label "Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon". It was so named in honor of Colonel Albert B. Blanton, making it the ultimate tribute to a man who dedicated his life to preserving the tradition of craft bourbon.

Colonel Blanton dedicated his career to the production of fine whiskey. He started as an errand boy and rose to become president of the whiskey plant. For more than 55 years he was responsible for running what is now the Buffalo Trace Distillery during the most difficult times of the 20th century. The distillery remained in operation during Prohibition with a special government permit, survived the Depression and the Great Kentucky River Flood of 1937, and even managed to stay in business during World War II.

Aromas of dried citrus spice and orange peel stand out with a slight hint of caramel and vanilla.

Smooth and full entry, marked by a mix of burnt sugar, caramel, orange and clove. The finish is muted but well balanced with vanilla, honey and citrus.
