Clynelish Estuchado Special Release 2022 is part of a limited annual collection of natural cask strength Scotch Whiskies from the original distilleries. Released annually since 2001, the collection has developed into a series of revered and highly regarded whiskies that continue to be highly sought after.
According to our distillery lore, Clynelish faced a fierce storm that threatened to freeze its precious barrels under the lash of icy winds. It was then that an enigmatic feline creature emerged from the shadows, immune to the cold, whose golden and captivating gaze rested on the barrels, wrapping them in a mantle of mystical warmth. The barrels, once saved, were imbued with an enigmatic intensity spiced by the transformed oak.
Situated in one of the most secluded corners of the Highlands, in a setting of untamed beauty and surrounded by dense bramble forests, Clynelish shares its surroundings with the elusive Scottish wildcat, Felis Silvestris, a rare and rarely sighted inhabitant of these lands.. However, the figure of a wildcat adorns the Clynelish distillery as an eternal protective emblem. Reflecting the luminescence of this being, Clynelish whiskey stands out for a creaminess that intertwines fruit and spices. This exquisite concoction exudes vibrant notes of fruits and herbs, deepening into nuances of spice and oak. Its smooth texture reveals flashes of sweet wines and spicy pepper, enriched by double maturation in Pedro Ximénez/Oloroso barrels.
