Dalamara Kapnistos is a white wine produced by Domaine Dalamara from Assyrtiko and Malagousia grapes in Naoussa, Greece.
Dalamara Kapnistos is a white wine produced by Domaine Dalamara with Assyrtiko and Malagousia grapes in Naoussa, Greece.
In the case of Kapnistos, the combination of Malagousia and Assyrtiko undergoes an aging process in oak barrels that lasts for 12 months. Through a particular maturation technique, the barrels are only partially filled, allowing greater contact between the wine and oxygen during this 12-month period.
A Greek family winery established in 1840 in the wine region of Naoussa, it is recognized for its dedication to the production of the indigenous Xinomavro variety. Today, the winery is certified for organic farming practices and also implements biodynamic methods. Since 2011, production has been led by Konstantinos Dalamaras, a sixth-generation winemaker.
Dalamara, with a boutique and traditional character, stands out for its limited production of only 40,000 bottles per year, demonstrating deep respect for the grape variety and the terroir.
It displays a striking golden color and an intense fragrance including notes of dried peach, caramel, honey, tobacco, vanilla, nutmeg, orange, dried flowers and hazelnut. On the palate it stands out for its fullness and fresh acidity, harmonized with a creamy texture.
Unique oxidative style (aging in partially filled barrels). Blend of Malagousia and Assyrtiko. Limited production by Kostis Dalamaras. Complex aromatic profile with smoky notes, honey and dried fruits.
Serve between 10–12°C in a Burgundy-style glass to enhance its complexity. Ideally decant 15 minutes before serving.
