Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva is a red wine from the D.O.C. Rioja, produced by Bodegas Herederos del Marqués de Riscal. This outstanding wine is made using grapes from vineyards over 80 years old, harvested from own production or from fixed local vintners. The meticulous production process involves aging the wine in American oak barrels for between two and three years, followed by three years of bottle aging before market release. It has an intense cherry color and features a powerful nose with notes of black pepper, cinnamon, and a very pleasant toasted background. Its excellent structure and rounded tannins provide a smooth, lingering finish, making it a wine with great aging potential. Ideal for pairing with ham, cured cheeses, red meats, roasts, and game stews.
