Monastrell wine pack consisting of Pie Franco Casa Castillo and Salinas 1237.

Pie Franco. The originality of the area, the aridity and the low temperatures are noticeable in the low production vineyards and in the high concentration obtained naturally. The wines produced are intense in colour, rich in fruity aromas, with body and structure, respecting the character, caste and uniqueness of each plot.

Pie Franco is the winery's most emblematic wine and one of the highest rated wines of the Jumilla D.O. by The Wine Advocate and the critics. It is a wine made with grapes from a single plot (La Solana) in which an old plantation of Monastrell de pie franco planted in 1941 still survives.

Salinas 1237.Reserve red wine from Alicante made by Bodega Sierra Salinas in the interior of the province, in the Alto Vinalopó region. The Alicante Bouschet (50 year old vineyards), Cabernet Sauvignon (25 year old vineyards) and Monastrell (34 year old vineyards) are used for its production. The grapes come from chalky and stony soils, with little organic matter and located at an altitude of 680 metres above sea level.

Tasting Notes

Pie Franco. It is a Mediterranean red wine, complex, with a very controlled power and a pleasant combination of balsamic freshness and spicy touches. It also stands out for its good bottle ageing capacity.

Salinas 1237. Intense and bright garnet with a high robe, complex nose, with a great load of ripe red fruit (strawberry, redcurrant); very clean and elegant. In the mouth it is juicy, with ripe fruit, creamy notes, toffee, liquorice and balsamic notes with hints of scrubland. Very elegant and well assembled, round, long and persistent.
