Red vermouth from Bodegas Remohí, crafted in Fontanars dels Alforins with a base of Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc. Its cold maceration with more than thirty botanicals and its aging in oak provide a herbaceous, citrus, and spiced profile, balancing sweetness and bitterness.
Remohi Red Vermouth is an aperitif from Bodegas Remohí crafted in Fontanars dels Alforins, known as the Valencian Tuscany. Its vinicultural base comes from Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from own vineyards, cultivated in clay-limestone soils at over 600 meters in altitude. The production includes an artisanal cold maceration with over thirty natural botanicals. Notably, these feature wild wormwood, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, bitter orange and lemon peels, Ceylon cinnamon, and clove. The infusion is blended with the base wine and receives subtle aging in oak barrels. It presents a bright mahogany color with copper and amber reflections. The nose combines Mediterranean herbs, candied citrus fruits and spices, on a balsamic and woody base. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky, with caramelized sweetness and persistent bitterness. It is suggested to be served very cold, in a wide glass or lowball, with solid ice, a slice of fresh orange, and an anchovy-stuffed olive. It pairs well with gildas, seafood conserves, toasted nuts, and aged cheeses, and can also be used in cocktails.
