Tamerán Camaretas 2023 is an extraordinary red wine that reflects the revolution of heroic viticulture in the Canary Islands. This wine is the result of collaboration between renowned footballer David Silva and acclaimed winemaker Jonatan García, known for his work at Suertes del Marqués winery. Made from the native Listán Negro variety, the grapes are exclusively sourced from the Camaretas area in Gran Canaria, located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level. The volcanic soils of the region impart unique minerality and salinity to the wine.
The vinification process includes 20% whole cluster fermentation in concrete tanks, followed by 11 months of aging in large 2,500-liter oak foudres and 500-liter French barrels. This meticulous crafting results in a red wine of great elegance, with vibrant acidity and a saline character that captures the essence of the Atlantic.
The wine has been acclaimed by critics, receiving high scores in influential guides. It pairs well with grilled blue fish, white meats, and aged cheeses, served at a temperature between 14°C and 16°C.
