Casamigos, created by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Michael Meldman, is a premium tequila brand produced in small batches exclusively from blue agave. The origin of the name Casamigos dates back to the frequent gatherings that Clooney and Gerber enjoyed at their homes in Mexico.
Tequila was developed from their common desire to enjoy an exceptionally smooth and flavorful tequila that could be drunk neat, without the need to add salt or lemon. For years, they perfected Casamigos with the help of an expert distiller in Jalisco, Mexico, conducting blind tastings of different blends until they found exactly what they were looking for. The blue agaves used in Casamigos are carefully hand-picked, cooked in traditional brick ovens for seventy-two hours, and then fermented for approximately eighty hours.
After distillation, the tequila rests for two months in stainless steel tanks, while the Reposado matures for seven months in select American oak barrels. Casamigos is conceived as a tequila to enjoy in personal moments and share with loved ones. It has an alcoholic concentration of 40%.
