The name came from the former abbey Guldenberg in Wevelgem, the birthplace of Nino Bercels, one of De Ranke's brewers. According to Flandria Illustrata's data, this beer was brewed there in the past.

Guldenberg is a blonde beer, very hoppy, with pale malt and the addition of candé sugar
Guldenberg is a blonde beer, very hoppy, with pale malt and the addition of candé sugar. Although its strength, the term abbey, the color and the grade seems so, it is not a Belgian-style triple, it is drier as liquid sugar is added to the mash for this purpose which gives a very particular flavor profile.
In the mouth, you immediately discover the bitterness, due to the Hallertau hops used and the brewing technique (dry hopping) that give it a perfect balance between sweet and bitter.
