Protos Crianza 2018 is a refined red wine made from 100% Tinta del País, also known as Tempranillo. This wine, from the prestigious Ribera del Duero region, is crafted using a meticulous process that includes fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature is controlled between 26 and 28ºC. The maceration lasts about two weeks, with four daily pump-overs that promote optimal extraction of color and flavor. It is aged for 14 months in barrels, with 33% being new and made of French oak, while the remainder are one- and two-year-old French and American oak. This provides the wine with complexity and subtlety, further complemented by one additional year of bottle aging. Sensorially, Protos Crianza displays a cherry color with a garnet rim. On the nose, ripe fruit aromas with spicy notes and hints of toasted oak are present, while on the palate it is broad and structured, with a persistent and highly aromatic finish. Ideal for pairing with poultry, game meats, stews, rice dishes, and cold cuts. It is recommended to serve at 16ºC to fully enjoy its nuances.
