Pintia 2021 is a red wine from the D.O. Toro, produced by the prestigious winery Tempos Vega Sicilia. It comes from 35-year-old vineyards and is exclusively made from the Tinta de Toro grape variety. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 700 meters and are cultivated in poor, stony soils. After a manual harvest, the grapes are cooled for 12 hours prior to selection and vinification, aimed at preserving their freshness and fine tannins. This wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and is aged for 11 months in a mix of French and American oak, using new wood in a controlled manner. In tasting, it presents an intense cherry-red color and complex aromas of ripe black fruit, with spicy, mineral, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is powerful and structured, with mature tannins and a long finish. Pintia 2021 pairs well with red meats, lamb, suckling pig, game, stews, and cured cheeses. Its production reaches 256,750 bottles and has an alcohol content of 15%.
