Green beans are vegetables with a low energy value that can only provide up to 28 kcal/100g. Like most vegetables, their water content is very important, reaching up to 90% of their weight. Its carbohydrate content is considerable (5%), with a very notable fibre content (2.4%). It contains a certain amount of proteins (2.3%) and almost negligible amounts of fat.
