The Los Beyos cow cheese has the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) which was recognized on November 8, 2011 by the European Commission.
Although Los Beyos cheese is a typical Asturian cheese, it is not very well known outside the Principality.

The paste of Los Beyos cheese is semi-hard to hard, closed, without fermentative eyes and with few mechanical openings, brittle or crumbly when cut, pale yellow color and firm texture, with a mild, slightly acidic, pleasant and balanced smell and flavor.
This Asturian cheese won the 1st prize in the 2016 contest of the cheeses of the Picos de Europa that takes place every year in Cangas de Onís.
