Castro Candaz La Vertical is one of the most unique and rare white wines from Ribeira Sacra, the result of the collaboration between Raúl Pérez and Rodrigo Méndez. It is primarily made from the Godello variety (sometimes accompanied by small proportions of other native white grape varieties) sourced from vineyards located on steep slopes. Its name, "La Vertical," pays homage to the incredible inclination of the plots and the wine's structure on the palate. After careful fermentation and aging, the wine presents an austere, serious, and deeply mineral profile. On the nose, it features notes of citrus white fruit, fennel, and a pronounced wet stone character. On the palate, it truly shines with its tension, electric acidity, and a firm, direct approach that sets it apart from traditional creamy whites. It is pure bottled energy.
