Fosca del Priorat
Fosca del Priorat 2022 is a single-varietal red wine made from Garnacha Tinta, produced in the DOQ Priorat, as part of the Project Garnachas de España. It comes from vineyards over 60 years old located on slopes and terraces of slate in the El Molar mountains, at an altitude of between 300 and 400 meters.
The harvest is done manually between late September and early October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures below 28 ºC, followed by a two-week maceration. It is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure without losing the pure expression of Garnacha.
This wine faithfully reflects the landscape of Priorat: notes of cherry and ripe raspberry intertwine with a marked minerality from the slate soils. On the palate, it is silky, flavorful, and has great persistence, with an elegance that leaves a lasting impression.
Tasting Notes:
Deep and bright color. The nose reveals ripe red fruits, mineral notes, and a delicate spicy background. On the palate, it is balanced, with a silky texture, marked freshness, and a persistent finish.
Style:
Fruity, spicy, full-bodied, with barrel aging.
Food Pairing:
Risottos, red meats, rice dishes, game, charcuterie, aged cheeses, and mushrooms.
Contains sulfites
