Campo Eliseo Contracorriente is a red wine that challenges the classic robustness of Toro, seeking a more fluid, fresh, and direct expression. Made with Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo), this wine breaks away from the stereotypes of the region by avoiding excessive extraction and the weight of new oak. It is vinified to highlight the vibrant red fruit and the typicality of the gravelly soil, resulting in a wine that is much more "drinkable" and agile than what is usually expected in the area. On the nose, it is an explosion of raspberries and cherries with hints of licorice and light spices. On the palate, it is balanced, with present but gentle tannins and a surprising acidity that makes it very food-friendly and modern. It is, literally, a Toro that swims "against the current."
