Bierzo

Pairing: carnes a la brasa, embutidos, guisos tradicionales, carnes blancas y quesos semicurados

Net weight:

Pittacum is a red wine from the DO Bierzo, made with 100% Mencía from old vines. This wine reflects the diversity of El Bierzo, balancing continental and Atlantic climates. Fermented in stainless steel, it matures for 8 months in oak barrels, adding complexity while retaining its fruity and mineral character.
Pittacum is an authentic representative of the DO Bierzo, composed exclusively of the Mencía variety from over 200 small parcels. This process captures the essence of Berciano terroir, where the influences of continental and Atlantic climates create a fresh, balanced profile. Fermentation in stainless steel ensures the full preservation of Mencía's aromatic expressions. It ages for 8 months in French and American oak barrels, adding structure without masking its fruity and mineral essence. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruit, alongside spicy notes and mineral hints, providing a balanced and expressive olfactory experience. On the palate, the wine is broad and harmonious, with ripe tannins and a silky feel that enhances its depth. Ideal for pairing with grilled meats and semi-cured cheeses, it is best enjoyed between 14 and 16 ºC.
