This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a masterpiece from the Tardieu-Laurent house, made mainly with old Garnacha Tinta vineyards, some over 60 years old, and accompanied by Syrah and, occasionally, a small proportion of Mourvèdre. Its philosophy is based on minimal intervention and careful aging; the wine is generally aged for 12 months in used oak barrels to preserve the purity of the pebble-laden terroir. The nose presents an explosion of ripe red and black fruit, with notes of licorice and a hint of spices and leather. On the palate, it exhibits remarkable power and density, with ripe tannins and a velvety texture that fills the mouth. Despite its concentration, it maintains an elegant aristocracy, making it the ideal companion for game dishes, grilled red meats, hearty stews, and intense cheeses.
