Albamar Fusco Nai 2021 is a red wine from the D.O. Ribeira Sacra produced by Bodegas Albamar , a project led by Xurxo Alba Padín. It is produced with 100% Mencía from a plot located in Ferreira de Pantón , near the Cabe river, one of the warmest areas of the appellation, with old vineyards planted on steep slopes on granite and slate soils.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks , with prolonged maceration to extract greater expression from the grapes. The wine is then aged for approximately 8 months in large volume French oak foudre , which adds complexity without hiding the freshness and varietal character of the Mencía grape.
The nose is elegant and expressive, with aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherry , accompanied by mineral notes and light spicy nuances. The palate is fresh and balanced, with soft tannins, good acidity and a long, juicy finish that reflects the Atlantic character of Ribeira Sacra wines.
A red wine with personality and great freshness, ideal to accompany red meats, cured cheeses or game dishes , as well as to enjoy in Mediterranean style meals
