The Alto de la Cruz Garnacha 2021 is regarded as one of the most iconic wines of the Alto Horizonte project. Sourced from old Garnacha vines in El Sotillo, Sierra de Gredos, this wine inherits the complexity of its granitic soils and the altitude of 1,150 meters. The harvest is done manually and follows a minimal intervention approach, allowing native yeasts and a high percentage of whole clusters to preserve the essence of the vineyard. Aging for 14 months in French oak, concrete, and inert containers adds complexity to the wine without losing its original character. With aromas of cherry, raspberry, and wild herbs, the wine is fresh and balanced on the palate, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity, culminating in a long, clean finish that highlights the character of Gredos' high-altitude Garnachas.
