AT Roca Esparter Barrica 2016 is an organic white wine produced by AT Roca , the project led by Agustí Torelló Sibill and his family, dedicated to expressing the character of the Penedès region through traditional grape varieties and sustainable viticulture. The wine comes from the Esparter vineyard , a single plot located in Alt Penedès planted with Macabeo and cultivated under certified organic farming practices.
The vines grow on soils composed mainly of clay and limestone , which provide balance and a distinctive mineral expression. Vineyard management focuses on respecting the natural ecosystem and highlighting the authentic Mediterranean character of the region.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels , where the wine then remains aged on its lees for several months , gaining complexity, texture and depth while preserving the freshness typical of the variety.
On the nose it shows elegant aromas of ripe white fruit such as apple and pear , along with citrus notes, hints of Mediterranean herbs, nuts and light toasted nuances from oak ageing. On the palate it is balanced, fresh and well structured , with a creamy texture, integrated acidity and a long finish where mineral and subtle spicy notes appear.
It pairs beautifully with baked fish, rice dishes, seafood, poultry and Mediterranean cuisine , making it a versatile and gastronomic white wine.
