La Baixada 2022 is a masterpiece by Álvaro Palacios, representing the essence of Garnacha in Priorat. This vintage comes from a classified vineyard located in Gratallops, covering just 1.3 hectares. The vineyard is situated on a steep slope with llicorella soils, contributing to the wine's uniqueness. Following a philosophy of minimal intervention, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats, including a portion of whole clusters to enhance aromatic complexity and freshness. Subsequently, the wine ages for 13 months in French oak fudres. On the nose, the wine presents notes of cherry, raspberry, wildflowers, exotic spices, and minerals, with delicate balsamic touches. On the palate, it features a deep and silky profile, fine tannins, marked mineral tension, and exceptional precision. The finish is long, fresh, and confirms its recognition as one of the great wines of Priorat.
