Comando G's Tamboril is exceptional, denoting the quality of the vineyard that maintains poise and minerality (very chalky tannins) with tension and the electricity of quartz. It is made from Garnacha from vineyards over 70 years old located on a north-facing slope of pure granitic soils. Aged for 14 months in 10HL French oak vats.

The age of the vines, their height and the size of this parcel of Grenache, barely half a hectare, means that this is always a limited cuvée even in the most clement vintages.

One of the latest novelties brought by the Garnachas from San Martín de Valdeiglesias (Madrid) is Comando G, a joint venture promoted by Fernando García (Bodegas Marañones) and Daniel Gómez Jiménez Landi. The two young winemakers have found a unique vineyard, the highest of the D.O. Vinos de Madrid (between 900 and 1,100 m), in the vicinity of the Sierra de Gredos.
