La Infanta de Mikaela 2020 is a personal wine by Aurelio García and Micaela Rubio that aims to revive historic vineyards and showcase the potential of indigenous varieties from Castilla-La Mancha. Made mostly from old Bobal vines and small proportions of other traditional varieties, the wine reflects an elegant and contemporary interpretation of the viticultural landscape. The 2020 vintage has been acclaimed by critics, earning 94 points from James Suckling and 92 from Robert Parker. On the nose, it unveils aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum, accompanied by notes of thyme, rosemary, and spices. On the palate, it is deep and structured, with fine tannins and a long finish. It is ideal to pair with roasted lamb, grilled meats, game, mountain rice dishes, and cured cheeses.
