Bendito Destino Clarete 2022 is one of the most unique and exciting projects from the new generation of Ribera del Duero. Crafted by sommelier Terry Kandylis, it revives the tradition of Castilian claretes. It originates from century-old vineyards in Canalejas de Peñafiel, where various traditional varieties coexist. The main blend includes Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Albillo, along with other local varieties. Its production follows an artisanal philosophy: manual foot treading, basket pressing, and fermentation in used barrels, with 7 months of aging on fine lees for depth and texture. Aromas of wild strawberry, pomegranate, and herbal notes accompany a mineral background. On the palate, it is juicy, fresh, and enveloping in texture, maintaining a clear Atlantic and classic personality. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of the historic clarete, elegant and authentic, crafted with sensitivity and minimal intervention.
