Dominio de Es Viejas Vines of Soria 2022 represents the essence of Bertrand Sourdais' personal project. Located in the Atauta valley, this wine comes from pre-phylloxera vines in the Ribera del Duero, where the oldest vines in Spain are found. The 2022 vintage, characterized by a hot and dry summer, produced an exceptionally concentrated and fresh wine thanks to the deep roots of these old vines. Aromatically, it presents a complex array of blackberry, plum, currant, and sweet spices, complemented by notes of cocoa and minerality. On the palate, it shows an elegant structure, with fine tannins and a silky texture, accentuated by a remarkable mineral tension. The ripe fruit merges with balsamic, spicy, and earthy elements, culminating in a long and persistent finish. This wine reflects respect for the identity of the Sorian vineyards, being regarded by critics as a 'Premier Cru' of contemporary Ribera del Duero.
