Falcoeira A Capilla 2021 is a red wine from the D.O. Valdeorras produced by Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez as part of the Ladeiras do Xil project. It comes from the Falcoeira vineyard, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz , on spectacular terraces between 400 and 600 meters above sea level on granitic soils. It is made from a blend of native varieties such as Mencía, Brancellao, Sousón and Garnacha Tintorera , from these steep slopes that give character and minerality to the wine.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in oak vats , seeking to preserve the identity of the vineyard. The wine is then aged for about 16 months in oak vats , which adds complexity without hiding the purity of the fruit or the expression of the terroir.
The nose is deep and elegant, with aromas of ripe red fruit, notes of scrubland and a marked mineral background. The palate is juicy and balanced, with fine tannins, good freshness and a long, persistent finish that reflects the Atlantic and granitic character of Valdeorras wines.
