Falcoeira Branco 2022 is a single-vineyard white wine produced by Telmo Rodríguez in the Valdeorras region of northwestern Spain. It comes from the historic Falcoeira vineyard , located on steep terraced slopes in Santa Cruz do Bolo, where traditional mountain viticulture has been carefully restored.
The vineyard is planted as a field blend of traditional white grape varieties , dominated by Godello and complemented by varieties such as Doña Blanca, Treixadura and Palomino. The vines grow on slate soils at high altitude , which contribute minerality, freshness and depth to the wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested in this challenging hillside vineyard. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, and the wine is aged for around 12 months in large oak vats and barrels , with lees ageing that enhances texture and complexity.
On the nose it shows aromas of white and stone fruits, citrus and flowers , along with hints of herbs, wet stone and pronounced minerality. On the palate it is deep, structured and elegant , with vibrant acidity, layered texture and a long saline finish.
This is a distinctive white wine with excellent ageing potential , ideal for pairing with seafood, fish dishes, Galician cuisine and fine dining , where its complexity and freshness can shine.
