Figuero 15 Meses 2018 is a red wine produced by Bodegas García Figuero , a family-owned winery located in La Horra (Burgos) in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region. The García Figuero family has a long winemaking tradition and works exclusively with estate-owned vineyards located around the village.
The wine is made from Tempranillo (locally known as Tinto Fino) sourced from vines between 25 and 50 years old , planted on clay-limestone soils typical of Ribera del Duero. Combined with the region’s continental climate, these conditions allow the grapes to develop concentration and balance.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. After fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels , where it gains complexity and structure.
On the nose it displays aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and plum , complemented by notes of vanilla, cocoa, spice and light toasted hints from oak ageing. On the palate it is powerful, balanced and elegant , with ripe tannins, good acidity and a long finish combining dark fruit and spicy nuances.
It pairs beautifully with red meats, roast lamb, traditional stews and aged cheeses , highlighting the structure and depth typical of Ribera del Duero wines.
