Goliardo Tinto 2021 is one of the most distinctive red wines from Galicia, made by Forjas del Salnés. This project focuses on reviving the historical potential of red wines in the Rías Baixas region. It consists of a blend of native varieties from old vineyards that are between 45 and over 100 years old, grown in granitic, sandy, and pebble-rich soils. These soils are key to providing freshness and minerality in the wine. Vinification is carried out through spontaneous fermentation, followed by aging in barrels and fudres of different sizes. This process aims to fully respect the character of the fruit and its origin. As a result, the wine presents a balance between tradition and freshness, avoiding the concentrated and heavy styles that often prevail in other reds. On the nose, Goliardo Tinto 2021 shows a fresh and expressive profile, with notes of red fruits like strawberry and raspberry, along with floral, herbaceous hints, and a spicy background. There is also a marked Atlantic character and a slight salinity. On the palate, it is light and juicy, with marked acidity and soft tannins, culminating in an elegant and fresh finish. This unusual wine resembles more the light Atlantic wines than traditional Spanish reds, making it ideal for those seeking freshness, low alcohol, and drinkability.
