La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 890 2011 is one of the most prestigious wines of the historic winery La Rioja Alta , produced only in exceptional vintages within the DOCa Rioja. It is produced from a classic blend dominated by Tempranillo , accompanied by small proportions of Graciano and Mazuelo , from selected vineyards in Rioja Alta. After fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 6 years in American oak barrels , with traditional racking every six months, followed by a long refining in the bottle.

The nose is extraordinarily complex, with aromas of ripe red fruits, balsamic notes and delicate nuances of vanilla, tobacco, cocoa, spices and leather , the result of its long aging and evolution. The whole shows an elegant and deep profile that reflects the classic style of the great Rioja wines.

The palate is ample and refined, with silky tannins, excellent balance and a notable freshness that provides length and cellaring capacity.
