La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Reserva 2019 is one of the great classics of the DOCa Rioja , made by the historic La Rioja Alta winery from a traditional blend of Tempranillo (approx. 80%) and Garnacha (20%) from selected vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Oriental. After fermentation, each variety is aged separately for a long period -36 months for Tempranillo and 30 months for Garnacha in American oak barrels- following the classic style of the house, with traditional rackings that contribute to its elegance and complexity.
In the glass it has a bright cherry red color with a garnet rim. The nose is outstanding for its aromatic intensity, with red fruits such as cherry, plum and currant , accompanied by elegant balsamic and spicy notes of vanilla, clove, licorice and black pepper from its long aging.
The palate is balanced and silky, with fine tannins and a freshness that brings harmony and length. The finish is persistent and elegant, reflecting the classic and refined style that has made Viña Ardanza one of Rioja's most emblematic wines. Ideal with roasts, red meats, game dishes or cured cheeses.
