Marañones Picarana 2020 is an exceptional white wine from the Denomination of Origin Vinos de Madrid. This wine is produced by Bodega Marañones in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, in the heart of Sierra de Gredos. Its grapes come from old Albillo Real vineyards, grown in granitic mountain soils, which ensure balanced maturation thanks to the altitude and the continental climate with Atlantic influence. Harvesting is done manually, ensuring the selection of the best grapes. After picking, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, a process that lasts about a year during which the wine stays on its lees. This method not only gives the wine volume and complexity but also highlights its varietal character and the minerality of the granitic soils. On the palate, it displays an elegant and expressive nose, with aromas of stone fruit, ripe citrus, and delicate white flowers, nuanced with aromatic herbs and subtle toasted notes.
